In automobile design an ever greater role is played by sustainable materials concepts and economically efficient system solutions. This apples also and especially to plastics. You can get up to speed about current developments in this field at the Plastics in Automotive Engineering international conference for which the VDI Wissensforum invites you to come to Mannheim on 17th and 18th March 2010.

"The European automotive industry has at its disposal a network whose usefulness has been demonstrated over many years, consisting of manufacturers, suppliers and research institutes in the field of plastics technology. As a whole they all perform important fundamental work which promotes progress in automotive engineering”, says the conference director, Prof. Dr. Rudolf C. Stauber, Chairman of the VDI Society for Plastic Technologies.

This event so valued by the industry and held at the Mannheim Congress Center provides opportunities for sharing professional experience and for discussions. The program includes these subject areas: exterior, interior, sustainability, materials and methods, technologies as well as composite materials. Simultaneous translation into English of the German papers will be offered. The conference is also accompanied by a technical exhibition by raw material producers, manufacturers of plastics processing machines, plastics processors and system suppliers. A motor show with the latest cars and commercial vehicles will showcase innovative plastics technologies in automobile manufacturing.
