viad@t implemented at Ludwig-Schokolade: Software controls candies
Ludwig Schokolade GmbH, a German chocolate-maker renowned for brands such as "Trumpf" and "Edle Tropfen", has modernized its logistics center in Saarwellingen (Saarland). The IT equipment now comes from viastore. In both automatic pallet warehouses, viastore replaced the old warehouse management system from a third-party supplier by the standard viad@tWMS and implemented radio-controlled picking and a forklift control system. Moreover, viastore connected the WMS to the SAP system.
The shared shipping area for the two AS/RS, which have a total of 16 aisles, was equipped with 24 shipping roller conveyors. Here viastore integrated the "Load Designer" software. This enables the optimized truck-related sorting of cargo on the shipping conveyors.
Belonging to the Krüger Group of companies, Ludwig Schokolade attached great importance to operating the Saarwellingen warehouse with the same source code as the one run by its parent company in Bergisch Gladbach. viastore built this logistics center back in 2004. The location–specific features are distinguished via configurations only, while all the processes are identical.
