In the competition among the almost three million middle class companies in Germany, organized by the Oskar-Pazelt-Foundation, SSI Schaefer, Giebelstadt was nominated as a candidate for the "Great Award for Middle Class Companies".

Solely for being among the finalists of the most important German competition among middle class companies, the intralogistics specialist already received a certificate. "We consider this nomination as a recognition of our innovation and the safeguarding of jobs in our region connected to it", explains Oswald Gruen, Vice President of SSI Schaefer, Giebelstadt. "For us, reaching the so called jury-round is the incentive to continue our engagement and work with the same tried and tested quality and at the same time be open for new developments and business processes".

This year will be the 15th time that the great prize for middle class companies will be awarded. The candidates were suggested by more than 1,400 municipalities, institutions, chambers and associations of the 16 Federal States. For twelve competition regions, the approximately 100 members of the jury will select up to three prize winners and up to five finalists in the fall. Altogether there are 1,028 companies in this final round - including SSI Schaefer, 187 middle class companies from Bavaria.

"The companies nominated represent the economically successful and socially involved middle class" the foundation states. "The participation in the competition and even more the awarding of a certificate for reaching the jury list is already a unique feature for the companies". Whereas the quality of presentations is particularly impressive this year. "From results concerning the security of jobs as well as that of positions for apprenticeships, to innovations and the involvement in the region, the middle class demonstrates that it can responsibly manage the current challenges", explains Dr. Helfried Schmidt, chairman of the foundation.

The Bavarian winners of the competition will be announced during a formal celebration taking place in Wuerzburg on the 12th of September.
