CHT R. Beitlich GmbH has operated an automated unit-load warehouse  t its Dusslingen location since 1995. Initially, the system consisted of a four-aisle unit-load section with viapal storage/retrieval machines, shipment staging lanes and a pick station level. Pallets, tanks, containers and barrels with special chemicals for the textile and construction materials industry are stored here.

Five years later the system was expanded by four viapal-serviced aisles and an additional level with pick stations. The software was correspondingly adapted. In 2007, the material flow system and visualization hardware needed to be upgraded. During all those years, the unit-load system was run under the viaware 4 warehouse management system from viastore.

When the SAP ERP system was introduced on a company-wide basis, the 15-year-old WMS was replaced by an integrated SAP LES solution (Logistic Execution System). Being a certified SAP system house and a competent partner for the introduction of SAP solutions in intralogistic systems, viastore was entrusted with implementing the new solution.

Today, all WMS functions of the automated system as well as all functions of the conventional warehouse sections are integrated in the new SAP ERP system. The existing material flow system and the visualization of the automated system remained in place and were linked to SAP via a certified interface.
