The PSI subsidiary PSI Transcom GmbH has been contracted by Höft & Wessel AG with the delivery of an Intermodal Transport Control System (ITCS) to the Troisdorf Rhein-Sieg Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH (RSVG). The contract strengthens the long-term partnership of both companies and sets a positive signal for further cooperation.

In the course of implementing the ITCS, a central control center for handling up to 350 vehicles will be established as well as the equipping of the vehicles. The control center combines the central functions such as the visualization of the current operating status, the handling of radio transmissions between the control center and the vehicles, central disposition, connection tracking and assurance, passenger information at main stops, VDV interfaces to the schedule and service planning systems, central ITCS data maintenance and statistical evaluations. One unique feature which RSVG will receive is a radio communication based on GPRS/UMTS with the functionalities of a classical company radio system such as the group call function developed by PSI.

The Höft & Wessel AG will equip the vehicles with the almex.optima cl series board computers. Along with the board computer functionality, the electronic ticketing according to core application will be integrated in a device, as requested by RSVG. In the area of Rhine-Sieg district and beyond, including to Cologne and Bonn, RSVG currently operates a network of 62 bus lines with a total distance of ca. 1,200 km.
