PSI erhält von SMS Siemag einen Auftrag über ein Planungsmodul für den russischen Stahlproduzenten OMK
PSI has been contracted by SMS Siemag, a company in the SMS group, with the delivery of the solution PSImetals Planning for the new heavy plate rolling mill of the Russian OMK group at the Vyksa site. With the new heavy plate rolling mill Vyksa Steel, which belongs to the OMK group, will enter into the production of heavy plate for the manufacture of long-seam welded pipes. The start of operations of the PSI solution is planned for the end of 2011.
The SMS Siemag AG is a member of the SMS group, which is under the umbrella of the Holding SMS GmbH, a group of companies internationally active in plant construction and mechanical engineering relating to the processing of steel and nonferrous metals. It consists of the two business units SMS Siemag and SMS Meer. In 2009, about 9,000 employees worldwide generated revenues of more than 3.8 billion EUR.
With this important contract PSI further expands its market position in the Russian steel sector. In 2009 Russia was the fifth-largest steel producer in the world; in each of the next two years the Russian metallurgy industry plans to make investments of more than 3.4 billion EUR.
PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software products, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, heat, water), cross-company production management (metals, automotive, mechanical and plant engineering, mining, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety.
