Product range extended
- Demag Cranes & Components presents slewing jib cranes based on aluminium
Demag Cranes & Components has extended its range of pillar- and wall-mounted slewing jib crane products with a new series. The core element of this solution is a jib made of an aluminium profile section for loads weighing up to 1,000 kg which – just like the existing range of models made of steel – features a long service life with a minimum maintenance requirement.
Demag aluminium slewing jibs feature high load capacities in relation to their deadweight and outreach dimensions up to 6 m. Their benefits for the user particularly pay off when different handling processes have to be served at the same time and the crane is continuously guided by the operator. The robust light-weight composite aluminium design provides for high jib rigidity and high operating reliability.
The rail profile with an integrated trailing-cable power supply is available in the two 120 and 180 sizes. The use of aluminium reduces the mass that has to be moved. Therefore, the jib can be slewed and guided more easily. This improves ease of operation and accelerates working processes. The use of hollow profile sections from the proven Demag KBK crane construction kit prevents the ingress of dirt. The highly resilient anodized surface of the profile section protects against other ambient conditions.
Smooth handling of the aluminium profile jib is further supported by the integrated KBK system trolleys. These trolleys are fitted with rugged plastic travel wheels that only offer little rolling resistance. They are smooth and quiet-running and feature an articulated, torque-free load connection. Kick-up forces can also be accommodated.
The jibs are installed on the steel crane pillars by means of a joint arrange-ment. The wall-mounted slewing jib crane design is attached to existing building and wall structures. In this way, valuable floor space can be kept free for production and storage.
To enable slewing jib cranes to be ideally matched to customer-specific workplace concepts, Demag Cranes & Components offers a wide range of different compact hoist units. The user can select the most suitable combina-tion for a given application. This arrangement allows the operator to operate the chain hoist and guide the load with only one hand in applications served by DCM-Pro Manulift units. The Demag DCS-Pro features infinitely variable hoist speed control to lift and precisely position sensitive loads gently and carefully.
Thanks to the light-weight design, Demag Cranes & Components has reduced the deadweight in comparison with the conventional Demag pillar- and wall-mounted slewing jib cranes. However, no compromise was made in the use of safe and reliable components. The result is a solution that offers high precision and positioning accuracy for minimum maintenance. Jib lengths and arrangements that can be built to meet individual needs form the basis for efficiently organised workplaces. At the same time, users profit from ergonomic benefits and improved productivity.
