On 1 April 1971 Mr. Velmeke took up his new post and since then has been personally responsible for building the in-house and external sales force that distributes Hänel Rotomat® office carousels in Germany and abroad.

At the end of the 70‘s Hänel developed the first heavyduty vertical carousels for industry with payload capacities up to 10 tons. This again increased Mr. Velmeke‘s area of responsibility. Customers were won from all branches of industry throughout the world, and almost all of them have remained satisfied Hänel customers to this day.

The launch of the Hänel Lean-Lift® with vertical technology in the 90‘s was also successfully promoted by Kurt Velmeke‘s sales activities.

Thanks to his support, the Hänel company today is one of the world‘s leading manufacturers of automated storage systems with distributors in over 60 countries. Mr. Velmeke has headed up sales for Germany and the Netherlands for almost 40 years.
