KNAPP launches programming contest
The logistics service provider KNAPP is one of Styria's largest employers in IT and will conduct the first KNAPP Coding Contest in its Corporate Headquarters and Development Centre on March 2, 2012.
Participants are in for a complex logistical brainteaser: for solving the Java task on their own personal computer, analytical thinking and speed is what counts. It will be a race against the clock with a sizeable reward for the top three: the winner will take home 1,500 euros, 1,250 euros for the runner-up and 1,000 euros for third place. As a special treat, all participants have the chance of winning an iPAD 2.
Gerald Lassau, Executive Vice President of KNAPP AG, is looking forward to the contest: "I started as a programmer myself and gained experience in international software projects. The field of software offers a wide variety of activities and a challenging range of duties spanning from product and project manager, development up to system startup and installations around the globe. The main focus of this first KNAPP Coding Contest is on the fun in solving brainteasing challenges, but of course we are also on the lookout for young talents for our company.
