Jungheinrich Expands Logistics Systems Division

Jungheinrich Acquires Stake in Leading Warehousing and Material Flow Equipment Software Company ISA GmbH, Graz.

Jungheinrich is substantially enlarging the footprint it has as logistics system provider. To this end, Jungheinrich AG is starting by taking an interest in ISA-Innovative Systemlösungen für die Automation GmbH, a leading software firm based in Graz, Austria. Jungheinrich management envisions stepping up this involvement at a later point in time. In their years-long cooperation, Jungheinrich and ISA have already carried out a large number of joint projects. ISA will continue to be run by its existing managing shareholders.

"By acquiring a stake in ISA, Jungheinrich is increasing its software expertise decisively and thus significantly strengthening the strategic position it has in the field of logistics systems, which is becoming increasingly complex," says Hans-Georg Frey, Chairman of the Board of Management of Jungheinrich AG. Adds Frey, "In so doing, we are investing in a promising, fast-growing field of business—even in times of economic crisis."

Says Markus Sammer, Managing Director of ISA GmbH: "By joining forces with Jungheinrich, we are offering our company outstanding growth opportunities the world over. ISA's highly specialized intralogistics solutions and Jungheinrich's global sales network form the basis for bright common prospects."

Since it was founded in 1989, ISA GmbH has established itself as one of the most competent software companies in the field of warehousing and material flow equipment. Integrated, holistic material flow and warehouse logistics solutions are the company's core competencies, complemented by all associated services such as project engineering, implementation, training and service. ISA currently employs some 50 people.

Jungheinrich ranks among the world’s leading companies in the material handling equipment, warehousing and material flow engineering sectors. The company is a logistics service provider with manufacturing operations, which offers its customers a comprehensive range of forklift trucks, shelving systems, services and consulting covering the entire field of intralogistics. Jungheinrich shares are traded on all German stock exchanges.
