For a quick cure – Biotech company modernizes 30 year-old warehouse
Biotech company Eppendorf, headquartered in Hamburg, has decided to have its old storage/retrieval machine (SRM) modernized by viastore after 30 years in operation. The SRM had been delivered by a third-party supplier. In addition, viastore was entrusted with installing its viad@tONE warehouse management system with a connection to the BAAN system. It is also planned to implement a batch management function.
Eppendorf develops, manufactures and distributes pipetting systems, dispensers and centrifuges as well as consumables such as micro test tubes and pipette tips to customers around the world. The company also provides instruments and systems for cell manipulation, automated devices for liquid handling and complete equipment for DNA amplification. The one-aisle tray warehouse with two picking horseshoes and a dedicated lane for very small orders supplies the production.
