During the Drinktec 2009 in Munich, SSI Schaefer exhibits intelligent solutions for palletizing, storing and automation in the beverage industry at the booth of the Schaefer Werke in Hall A1, stand 502/411.

Representative for the versatile processes and tasks in the beverage industry, the company of Giebelstadt introduces a palletizing robot as it is for example already used for the award winning Schaefer Case Picking (SCP). The compact robot can be equipped with different grippers and is therefore suitable for palletizing as well as for handling the entire range of containers used in the beverage industry. Advantage: Fast, volume-optimized, formation of stable mixed and branch pallets according to product class - fully automated and without obligation to personnel capacities.

Another exhibit by SSI Schaefer is a rack with special layer trays of the Schaefer Tray System (STS). The STS is a proved and tested system to store and process trays.
For the beverage industry the STS is a tailored rack solution for a wide variety of containers. In the STS storage individual pallet layers are stored compactly on special layer trays and can therefore be allocated at the order pick position very quickly. By means of this new procedure developed by SSI Schaefer and based on the "goods-to-man" principle, ergonomic and highly-efficient pallet packing positions can be set up as either automatic or manual.
This type of storing and allocation by layers cannot only provide more items at the pick positions but is also able to keep up with the steady growth of item variety and the increased formation of mixed pallets.

In addition some solutions and references of realized logistics projects for notable companies of the beverage industry are introduced on a video screen. The presented applications range from special solutions with the award winning Schaefer Case Picking (SCP) to projects for which SSI Schaefer, as a general contractor, realized the entire logistics.

With these innovative solutions SSI Schaefer considerably contributes to the increase in performance and optimization of economics.
