Deutsche Messe stages quartet of industrial trade fairs in Mumbai for the first time.

From 10 to 13 December the quartet of industrial trade fairs comprising CeMAT INDIA, MDA INDIA, ENERGY INDIA and Industrial Automation INDIA will be staged in Mumbai for the first time. For this first event at the new venue, the Bombay Exhibition Center, Deutsche Messe is expecting some 350 exhibitors from 19 countries. Over 50 per cent of the exhibitors come from outside the Indian subcontinent, principally from Germany, Italy, Spain, China and Taiwan. This high quota of foreign participants underlines the international importance of these trade fairs, which will occupy two exhibition halls at the centrally located Exhibition Center in Mumbai.

Mumbai is India's most important hub of economic activity. The industries based here, which include mechanical engineering, metalworking, chemicals, fertilizers and textiles, provide an ideal backdrop to the themes of the four shows: innovative materials handling technology, efficient power transmission systems and modern energy and automation technologies. Pune, the centre of India's flourishing car industry, is also located close to Mumbai.

"By organizing these events in Mumbai we are expanding our presence in India and giving our exhibitors access to new visitor markets in the northern and western regions of the country. India is one of the most important markets for trade fairs in Asia, because the Indian economy needs the key technologies that are featured at our industrial trade shows in order to carry on growing", says Dr. Andreas Gruchow, a member of the Board at Deutsche Messe AG, Hannover.

CeMAT INDIA

With annual growth rates of between 15 and 20 per cent, the Indian transport and logistics sector is one of the country's fastest-growing service industries. The use of efficient modern technology is an essential prerequisite for the professionalization of this sector. Alongside major domestic suppliers such as Action Construction Equipment Ltd., Electromech Material Handling Systems (I) Pvt Ltd., Gandhi Automation Pvt. Ltd., Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co. Ltd., Kompress (India) Pvt Ltd. and the Nilkamal Group, many well-known international suppliers will also be exhibiting at the show, including Konecranes from Finland, Demag Cranes, SSI Schäfer, Haenel, Bito and Kardex from Germany and Knapp from Austria.

To complement the displays at this year's show there will be a full supporting program organized by the DVV Media Group, with "Warehouse Management" and "Materials Flow Management" as the two major focus topics.

MDA INDIA

Power transmission and control technologies constitute a core component of all automation systems and have a vital role to play in determining the quality and performance of every machine. India's economy is continuing to grow, and it needs state-of-the-art power transmission and control systems in order to modernize its industrial production. At MDA INDIA leading manufacturers from all over the world will be presenting their products. Top international names in the line-up include Bosch Rexroth AG and Argo Hythos from Germany, Eaton Fluid Power Limited from the USA and SKF from Sweden. At the same time many Indian firms will also be represented at MDA INDIA, among them Spareage Seals Ltd. and Rotomotive Powerdrive India Ltd. The joint organizer of MDA INDIA is Fluid Power Society of India.

Industrial Automation INDIA and Energy INDIA

In August industrial production in India was up by 10.4% on the corresponding figure for last year. As the Indian Office of Statistics has confirmed, this was the largest increase for 22 months. The fastest-growing sectors were mining (12.9 per cent), goods production (10.2 per cent) and power generation (10.6 per cent). This has created an ideal sales environment for exhibitors at Industrial Automation INDIA and Energy INDIA, where the line-up includes leading Indian companies such as Autonics Corporation, Delta Power Solutions Pvt Ltd., Omron Automation Pvt Ltd. and SUVIK Electronics Pvt Ltd., alongside high-profile international suppliers such as Siemens, Rittal and Harting from Germany.

The centrepiece of Industrial Automation INDIA is the "Automation Kiosk". Under the patronage of the Fluid Power Society of India, leading manufacturers such as Bosch Rexroth India and Festo Controls will be demonstrating typical applications for modern automation technologies. Participants will have an opportunity to try out various types of application with the aid of practical examples.

The four shows are organized by Deutsche Messe and its subsidiary, Hannover Milano Fairs India Ltd. The events enjoy the support of major engineering industry associations across the world, including Germany's VDMA (German Engineering Federation) and ZVEI (German Electrical Engineering and Electronics Manufacturers' Association), the FPCI (Fluid Power Society of India), the Taiwan Fluid Power Association, the British Fluid Power Association, the Italien Fluid Power Association and the Japan Fluid Power Association.
