Customer solutions - tailor-made and always efficient; BEUMER - intralogistics without any problems

Customised solutions as well as products and systems which provide more efficiency - with this challenge, the BEUMER group (based in Beckum and with subsidiaries and representatives around the world) has been developing state-of-the-art intralogistic systems for 75 years. The range of products of the globally operating, family-owned company includes conveying, loading, palletising and packaging technology, as well as sortation and distribution systems. The acquisition of Crisplant - specialist in baggage sortation systems for airports and sortation technology for courier, express and parcel services - has made the BEUMER group an international leader in the manufacture of high-capacity sortation technology for airports.

"Our goal is not the short term profit, but the long term success” - this is the mission statement of the company which was founded by Bernhard Beumer in Beckum in 1935.
Family spirit, the integration of employees into all operational processes, innovation, communication and the constant dialogue between Sales, Engineering, and Research and Development are the basis for this future-oriented alignment. Manageable growth, a large range of products and global market presence ensure the long-term success of the company.

In 2006, the BEUMER group opened a factory in Shanghai. This subsidiary covers the whole logistics value chain from sales, projection, engineering to production and service on the Chinese market. In 2009, BEUMER purchased the shares of Crisplant AS, thus increasing the number of employees in the BEUMER group to about 2,000 with an annual turnover of about 375 million EUR. This addition of Crisplant's expertise enhances the BEUMER portfolio as an international leader in the manufacture of high-capacity sortation technology for airports, courier, express and parcel services.

BEUMER does not merely offer standard solutions, but designs, builds and installs systems tailored in detail to the specific project requirements. BEUMER has three product ranges: conveying and loading, palletising and packaging technology, and sortation and distribution systems. In the conveying technology sector, the BEUMER bucket elevators with the highest possible centre distances transport for example raw meal to the heat exchangers in cement plants. In the loading technology sector, BEUMER designs - in conjunction with palletising technology - complete systems for the handling of goods and incorporates the whole process chain: from unloading to palletising in the intermediate storage - and from depalletising to loading. The palletising technology sector offers a comprehensive product range for the formation of load units for the building material and cement industry, for special products or mass products in the chemical industry and for the food and animal feed industry. The BEUMER rotobpac® construction series palletises and depalletises different packages using specifically developed gripper elements and tools.
In order to secure and protect the palletised goods, the high-capacity packaging system BEUMER stretch hood® offers the best solution. A packaging system, which for example pulls a stretch hood over bags filled with bulk material and stacked on pallets to protect the material during transport, must fulfil high requirements. The high-capacity packaging system automatically determines the different stacking heights, calculates the optimal film consumption and then pulls a stretch hood over the palletised load unit. The stretch film hood provides high stability by lasting vertical and horizontal tension force. The load units are efficiently protected against weather or dust and moisture providing excellent display of the packaged products.

In the sortation and distribution technology sector, BEUMER supplies high-capacity systems for the sortation of baggage at airports. The low wear of the sorters used reduces maintenance costs. This is possible because of a contactless data and energy supply. The BEUMER sortation system helps the service providers to keep their customer promises. The broad spectrum of services - from maintenance, trouble-shooting, repair and spare parts to system modernisations and expansions - ensure a high investment protection for the customers.

In future, BEUMER will focus on the automation of processes. The use of energy-efficient solutions will become more important for BEUMER. However, the most important goal for the company group still is, to offer its customers premium quality and service. The merger of Crisplant and BEUMER provides additional customer benefits for automatic sortation systems. Together, they enhance their ability to provide an extended product network, independent as well as turn-key solutions, and exceptional sales and service expertise - reinforcing the BEUMER group's position as an innovative and established supplier of sortation technology solutions and system integrations.
