BEUMER provides the building materials industry with palletising and packaging technology: Accurate and gentle stacking of heavy bags

Building material manufacturers rely on the palletising and packaging technology of the BEUMER group to increase productivity, energy efficiency and quality. Both the BEUMER paletpac® 4000 and 5000 high-capacity bag palletisers and the BEUMER stretch hood® stretch film packaging system are particularly suitable for the building materials industry. The palletisers are used for gently stacking bagged bulk materials with high throughput on pallets, ensuring a high stacking accuracy and a high stability of the palletised bag stacks.

The BEUMER paletpac® 5000 bag palletiser, for instance, stacks 5,000 bulk material bags per hour. The palletiser has been designed particularly for high-capacity requirements and offers the user a high stacking accuracy. One of the optimised working steps of the BEUMER paletpac® 5000 is the so-called bag flow distribution, which makes sure that bags can be palletised at low handling speed with high throughput. The bags are handled gently on the belt conveyors - thus the escape of dust is minimised and bag deformation avoided. This enables a high geometric accuracy, which positively influences the stability of the stacked pallets and ensures a safe integration into the downstream packaging system.

Because of its design, the BEUMER stretch hood® high-capacity packaging system can be variably adjusted to different stacking heights. These are registered automatically by the control. An ultrasonic sensor determines the required film length. The film is then cut and sealed. The formed hood is pulled over the complete pallet stack and is stretched up to the bottom edge of the pallet fitting the entire stack tightly. Before completion of the stretching process, the film is held by the pressed-on crimping rollers and released horizontally. This process enables a high stability of the stack. The bulk material is now protected against wind, rain and dust. Besides the packaging capacity, the stretch hood technology provides improved visibility of the palletised bags thanks to the smooth surface of the film.
